Insurance Information

VISION INSURANCE IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM HEALTH INSURANCE.

Regular health insurance plans, also known as medical plans, guard against financial losses due to medical issues related to any health concerns. Some examples are eye injuries, infections, broken bones, asthma attacks and many more.

Vision insurance, however, is a wellness benefit that provides routine eye care, prescription eyewear, and contact lenses. This also includes other vision-related services at a lowered price.

We are in-network providers for many vision and medical health plans, so just contact one of our team members to ask about your specific plan. If we are not in your network, we can still assist you. We will be happy to provide you with an itemized statement of expenditures and a receipt that you can submit to any insurance company for easy reimbursement. Please call your plan provider directly for details on your specific coverage.

Below is a list of insurance plans that we currently take as 'in network', although this list is constantly changing. If you do not see your insurance plan listed, please call the office to confirm.

Insurance Plans:
Routine Vision Plans: Vision Service Plan (VSP), CompBenefits/VCP (Humana), Eyemed, Spectera, Davis Vision, Superior Vision, Seminole Tribe, Solstice, 20/20 Eyecare.

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF VISION INSURANCE PLANS: VISION BENEFITS PACKAGES, AND VISION DISCOUNT PLANS:

VISION BENEFITS PACKAGE

This type of vision plan is often purchased as an addition to traditional employer-provided health care. This plan includes a fixed set of benefits related to eye health and maintenance, such as routine eye exams, prescription eyewear coverage and sometimes reduced cost of eye surgery. For additional information on his plan type, speak with your vision plan administrator or call us for more information.

VISION DISCOUNT PLANS

This type of vision insurance plan usually offers a flat discount for a wide range of vision-related services and products including examinations, eyeglasses, and contact lenses. You agree to pay in full the discounted plan fees. Nothing is billed or collected from the vision plan.

Although these different plan types can seem confusing, it is important that you are aware of the details of your plan, so that you can maximize your benefits. Our team with be happy to review with you the coverage that your plan offers. And remember, vision plans expire from year to year. Because you are paying for that benefit, it is important that you take advantage of the benefits before they expire.

As a service to our patients, we offer the CareCredit Card. Information on this plan type can be found here.
